Bag Mohajer ist ein Projekt von Geflüchteten in Griechenland und Deutschland. Aus Booten und Schwimmwesten, die auf der griechischen Insel Lesvos stranden, schneidern sie Taschen. Die Boote waren einst Mittel, um die Flucht zu überleben. Als Taschen tragen sie die Geschichten der Geflüchteten weiter, auch an jene Orte, an die sie nicht reisen können. Durch die Arbeit in den Werkstätten von Bag Mohajer lernen Geflüchtete Menschen kennen, sie tauschen sich untereinander aus und bekommen Mut in einer oftmals schwierigen Situation. Das Projekt baut auf Toleranz, Kreativität und Solidarität in Zeiten zunehmender Abschottung.
Wir zeigen den Dokumentarfilm: Bag Mohajer – Tasche des Flüchtlings von Adrian Oeser und kommen mit Aktiven der Gruppe ins Gespräch, die auch einige der Taschen mit nach Dresden bringen werden. Zu Beginn wird es einen kurzen Input über die aktuelle Situation von Geflüchteten in Griechenland geben.
An dem Abend könnt ihr einige der Bags Mohajer auf unserem Taschentisch erwerben, es wird außerdem einen Stand mit Büchern und Infomaterial geben. Das Gespräch wird in englischer Sprache stattfinden, eine Übersetzung ins Deutsche ist organisiert. Der Film läuft mit Originaltönen auf Englisch, Griechisch, Dari, Paschtu und Deutsch mit deutschen Untertiteln. Der Trailer zum Film ist hier zu sehen.

„It‘s like an extension of our memory … the boats, which carried us so far, we are carrying (on) now …“
Bag Mohajer is a project by refugees in Greece and Germany. Made by boats and life jackets, stranded on the Greek island of Lesbos, they tailor bags. Once, the boats were means to survive the flight. Transformed to bags, they carry (on) now the stories of refugees, also to those places, to which they can‘t travel. Through the work in the workshops, done by Bag Mohajer, refugees are meeting people, exchanging experiences among each other and getting the courage in an often difficult situation. The project is based on tolerance, creativity and solidarity in times of increasing isolation.
We‘ll screen the documentary: Bag Mohajer – Bag of the refugee by Adrian Oeser and talk with activists of the group, who‘ll bring some of the bags to Dresden. In the beginning, there will be a short input to the current situation of refugees in Greece.
On this evening, you can purchase some of the bags Mohajer. In addition, there‘s gonna be a table with books and informative material. The conversation will be held in English.
